Priyanka Chopra Wants To Be Bond, Not A Bond Girl

Indian actress Priyanka Chopra is the latest of many actresses to dismiss the notion of playing a Bond girl, saying she'd sooner take the lead.

Asked by Complex about taking a Bond girl role, the actress replies, "I get that all the time. But f*ck that I wanna be Bond.

Again, Chopra's hardly the first to express such a sentiment: Catherine Zeta Jones said much the same thing in the late 90s, leading to rumours that she was genuinely in the running to be the first female James Bond.

Also this week, Gillian Anderson shared a fan image of herself as 007, seeming to approve of the idea.

We can no doubt expect a great deal more comments and rumours of this sort in the near future, given how heavily it's being speculated that Daniel Craig is indeed throwing in the towel with Bond.

As for whether Priyanka Chopra would be his replacement... it's probably best not to go betting your house just yet. But it's certainly a bold statement of intent from the Bollywood star turned Quantico TV actress, soon to be seen as a villain in next year's Baywatch movie.
