Sam Raimi to bring us Pulp Fiction?

shadow2.jpgNo don't panic he is not remaking the Tarantino classic. IGN have got the exclusive info that Sam Raimi will be bringing the forgotten pulp heroes of yesteryear back to life in a film that would unite famous characters from Street and Smith Publications. They report that the characters invovled would be Doc Savage, The Avenger and The Shadow (who has already had his own flick in 1994) with the possibility of further characters from the canon being included. You know how The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen had several characters from literary fiction in one movie? I'm guessing it will be kind of like that. It's currently unknown if Raimi will be directing or just producing the flick but it probably hinges on whether or not he decides to shoot Spidey 4. As much as I love the Spider-Man franchise, I wouldn't be too distraught if Spider-Man 3 ends his trilogy as I wanna see the talented director work on some different projects. I really like the way Christopher Nolan is doing things with the Batman franchise, he does one superhero movie, then one amazingly awesome smaller flick before returning to the franchise again. Taking a break from Spider-Man would be my advice to Raimi. Shoot this Pulp movie, then do another personal movie if you so desire then come back and do another Spider-Man flick. I guess Sony would probably have something to say about that, but I think it would also be beneficial to them not to rush a Spider-Man movie after this one. Let the franchise, the director and the cast breathe. source - cinema blend, ign
