Shrek the 4th will be Sky High

flo_3_ex24shrek_nyet35_0524.jpgSky High director Mike Mitchell is in talks to direct the fourth installment of the Shrek franchise says The Hollywood Reporter. The third movie in the series will hit theatres in just 2 weeks time, but thoughts have already turned to the next movie which will likely be released in 2009 or 2010... the latter being more probable. Will Shrek the Third become the victim of the massive blockbuster movies Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Spider-Man 3 or will it be able to stand on it's own feet, even if it is released in the middle of the two? Let's not forget Shrek is a massive money making franchise in it's own right. The last movie just fell short of the $1 billion mark by around $80 million. Still though, if I were the studio I might just be a little worried at this point because this month is uber cluttered with popular movies.
