Like a British Secret Service agent who's just knocked back his second martini and clocked eyes on seductive woman across the room as assassins move in, the hype train for Spectre is getting into full gear. Only last week the "Final Trailer" for Bond 24 dropped and now we have the official music video for Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall. There's been a pretty mixed reaction to Smith's opening theme, with some critics even going as far as calling it un-Bond (I'm firmly in the opposite camp, each re-listen of the tune making it feel ever more fitting as the opening for the much anticipated new 007 instalment). Even if you can't stand the opening theme, however, the music video is still worth checking out - it's nicely put together and there's a lot of new footage in there that sheds some light on the plot and key show-stopping sequences of Spectre. 8. Bond's Late To The Funeral
Smith spends much of the video in the cemetery we've seen Bond visit in a couple of the earlier trailers (around several Union Jack-covered coffins, reminiscent of a shot from Skyfall), which suggests that the scene (that looks noticeably less bombastic than some of the film's other big sequences) is going to be more impactful on the plot than its previous limited teaser-time suggest. The music video offers up little more than we've garnered already - Christoph Waltz's Oberhauser, Bond and Monica Bellucci's Lucia Sciarra are all in attendance, with the latter seemingly in mourning - but does show Bond heading towards the funeral alone, walking through an expansive square and up to the congregation. Moreso than any of his surverying from afar before, this strongly implies he's not actually invited to the event, and is rather there to scope out information on the newly discovered S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
