Spectre Ending: 8 Potential Ways It Sets Up Bond 25

What's next for 007 after THAT finale.

Obviously this article has MAJOR SPOILERS for Spectre, relating to every facet of the ending, and assumes you're familiar with the broader plot of the film. You have been warned. You know how Bond movies are supposed to end: the bad guy enters the final stages of their plan, only for it to be foiled at the last minute (probably 007 seconds ahead of detonation), before going mano-o-mano with James and dying in the most ironic manner possible. Then Bond gets it on with the girl who actually made it through, awaiting another call from M. Not Spectre though. Oh, there's all the usual stuff - there is a last-minute foiling of the villain's scheme and there's definitely a hook up - but it ultimately leaves the franchise in a very exciting, unpredictable position; after Skyfall returned us to something resembling the Connery status quo, Spectre barged in and changed everything up. Needless to say, there's a lot of loose threads and ideas that leave many doors open for Bond 25 (and beyond). At the moment little is known about plans for the future of the franchise - both the rights to the property and the willingness of its star have been brought into contention in recent months - but these narrative hints could suggest what the narrative direction could be.
