Spider-Man: 10 Reasons Sony Should Fire Andrew Garfield

4. He€™s Annoyed The Sony Chiefs

Even if an actor€™s film is terrible, it is a taboo in Hollywood to blame the studio - Garfield breached this unspoken rule by insinuating that meddling by Sony was to blame for the sequel€™s underwhelming performance, and he further alienated his bosses by pulling out of an event with high profile executives at the last minute. This was deemed disrespectful to say the least, and it has placed him in a dangerous situation. Having placed himself in this precarious position means it is hard for Sony to fully back the character he plays - why should a studio invest so much time, effort and money into a project where the star criticises them? If there is going to be a brilliant Spider-Man film, which of course everyone wants to see, then the studio behind the project needs to have no hesitations about supporting the movie. Andrew Garfield€™s presence would jeopardise this, so it makes sense to jilt the star and reboot the character, or to replace him with a somewhat similar looking actor in a soft reboot.
