The sequel received even better reviews, earning a staggering 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And then 2007 came around and... it was disappointing, to say the least. Spider-Man 3 was savaged by critics, who complained about an overstuffed plot, weakly developed villains, and far, far too much emphasis on the special effects.
