Spider-Man: Homecoming - First Set Photos Land, Hannibal Buress Joins Cast
Production is underway!
Production is underway on Spider-Man: Homecoming, the solo film focusing on Tom Holland's version of the web-slinger.
After the character's fantastic introduction in Captain America: Civil War, it's safe to say excitement is pretty high, especially with this being the first Spider-Man movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, courtesy of Just Jared, the first photos from the set have been revealed, showing Holland's Peter Parker alongside Zaydana's Michelle, as well as Tony Revolori's Manuel, and Holland sporting a Midtown Science and Technology School Sweatshirt. Holland himself revealed his - well, Peter's - chair on Instagram (as seen in the image above).
Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gun took to Facebook to wish Holland and director Jon Watt good luck as they start shooting, with production coming to an end on Guardians.
In addition to the new images, there's been another raft of casting for the film, with Variety reporting that comedian Hannibal Buress is the latest to join the cast. This follows on from the likes of Donald Glover and Martin Starr signing on last week, and is another example of the strong comedic element this movie looks like it's going to have.
As well as Buress, newcomers Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and J.J. Totah have joined as well (via The Hollywood Reporter), though their roles as well as Buress' are a mystery right now.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.
