Star Wars: 10 Best Characters From Only One Movie

4. Admiral Ackbar: Return Of The Jedi

Who knew the fish guy in the white jump suit could amass such a huge following among fans? Admiral Ackbar, the commander of the rebel fleet made a huge impact in the final epic space battle of Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi and brought another face to the battle alongside Lando Calarissen and the ever awesome Wedge Antilles. Not bad for a character that had just a couple of brief scenes before that final battle took place. So why did he make the impact that he did? For a start, he's not a human character, reflecting a very different personality to the stoic British commanders of the Imperial Star Fleet. Secondly he looks fantastic, turning an animal into a humanoid and giving him personality in a way that Star Wars always does best. He was more rough and ready than his enemy counterparts and had some thrilling moments too, from the infamous €œIt's a trap!€ to his decision to €œconcentrate all firepower on that super star destroyer!€ It was Ackbar that lead the attack which destroyed the most powerful ship in the Star Wars saga and there was evident glee in his reaction to the Executor crashing into the surface of the Death Star. He brought passion and personality to a fish guy in a suit, and while he might have been a late player in the fight against the Galactic Empire, he was a mighty hero nonetheless.
