Star Wars 7 Villain Will Be Played By...

An almost complete unknown is set to portray the "Darth Vader like" chief villain of the new trilogy.

Variety reports that the Girls actor has beaten out Hollywood giants Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving to play the "Darth Vader like" chief villain of the new Star Wars movie. Finals talks are underway and it's all but confirmed, seemingly. J.J. Abrams, in something of a surprise (he cast mostly unknowns around Eric Bana's villain in his Star Trek reboot), has chosen an almost complete unknown to film audiences with only supporting roles in Lincoln, J Edgar, Inside Llewyn Davis, Francis Ha and a few other films to his name. His first IMDB credit was only from as recently as 2009 and before then he had spent time as a former Marine and a Julliard grad. Now he's about to go through a life-changing experience that will make him a household name forever. Watch this space but the very first official casting for J.J. Abrams new Star Wars trilogy (after many, many, many months of exhaustive casting sessions) looks imminent. Scripted by J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, the new Star Wars trilogy is expected to be focused around a new set of actors but with significant roles for the former stars Mark Hammil (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo). Shooting is expected to begin shortly for a release on December 18th, 2015.
