10. Empire Strikes Back Screenwriter, Lawrence Kasden, to Co-Write the New Trilogy
Everyone is crazy with the idea of Michael Arndt, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3, penning the new script for Episode VII. For once, it is nice to see the screenwriter get the press he deserves. However, he may not be alone. It is rumored that one of the original writers of the first Star Wars trilogy (no, not George Lucas) is back to help as well. Lawrence Kasden, co-writer of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi is in talks to help out once more craft the next three stories in the saga. Though Michael Arndt most certainly does not need as much as help as Lucas probably did, having Kasden aboard can only mean good things.
