Star Wars: Solo Super Bowl Trailer Reactions - 5 Ups & 2 Downs

The nostalgia is strong with this one...

Solo A Star Wars Story
Lucasfilm

After what has felt like years of build with absolutely no pay-off, we've finally got the first look at Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Despite some expectations that the trailer wouldn't be released until the Winter Olympics at the earliest, Disney defied expectations (and some "expert" commentary) to release a first tease during the Big Game. It will be joined very soon by a full trailer (courtesy of a GMA slot in the morning) but for now, it's good to see a little footage to start building hype.

After all, this movie is out in a matter of months and it's not like it's a Cloverfield movie. Probably.

So after those long empty months, we've now got 45 seconds to pour over until the full trailer is released, and while there's not a huge amount of detail in there, it's still well worth picking at it to see what works and what they didn't quite nail.

First, to the negatives...
