Superman is a PORTER?

Another JLA rumor has hit the web, this time over at Cinema Blend. One part of me can't help but think that the two JLA stories today are just rumors spread by people who know they might get picked up by movie sites because we are all expecting an announcement soon. Anyway the rumor they are reporting is that FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS regular and upcoming SPEED RACER actor Scott Porter has been cast as Superman in the JLA movie. He is 29 and from Omaha, Nebraksa and we know 100% for sure that this guy was at least considered for the part as he was one of the dude's who auditioned in that in-famous college drop-out casting weekend!

I must admit I've barely seen this guy act but I think he does kinda look the part and with some of the names mentioned with this role (remember that dude from HELLBOY?), he is one that doesn't anger me one bit. The only problem I find with this rumor is that it just doesn't correlate with the other rumor that BOF are reporting. Superman won't be a 29 year old actor, and Batman a 21 year old. I would have thought they would be far likely to be around the same age. The Blend go on to tell us that... Adam Brody has been cast as The Flash (again, we know he auditioned and I actually think this might be good casting. He can act to a degree and looks a little more respectable than some of the names mentioned for this part). Common is The Green Lantern (this seems to be a 'common' story, though it's very strange casting). Teresa Palmer is on board but NOT as Wonder Woman (the Aussie actress who many are convinced will play the Amazonian Goddess is rumored to be playing the part of TALIA GHUL!). WHAT THE FUCK? She is of course the villainous daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, played magnificently by Liam Neeson in BATMAN BEGINS. I thought the idea here was to keep both franchises frikkin' separate? How can you use the daughter of a villain from BATMAN BEGINS in JLA and not expect people to compare? And an Aussie as Talia? No-fucking way. And if that wasn't unbelievable enough they go on to tell us that Michael Gough will cameo as Alfred, some ten years after his last appearance as the character in BATMAN & ROBIN. And that's where they lost me. Pure garbage this story, though I do think Porter is at least in the top 4 or 5 names considered for this part.
