Taylor Swift To Star In Dr Seuss' THE LORAX

Taylor Swift; she's profitable, right? The tweens love her, and she's a 'country singer', so she's pretty much contractually obliged to be into all that tree-hugging crap. She probably wears shoes made out of recycled milk cartons and rides on a tour bus that runs on optimism. This is the sort of questionable thought process that must've lead to her being cast in the upcoming film adaptation of The Lorax, a Dr Seuss fable that illustrates the dangers that industrialisation poses to the environment using a child-friendly aesthetic, with the Lorax of the title representing nature and the anonymous Once-ler acting as a personification of big business. So who better to cast in a thought-provoking children's tale than Taylor Swift, whose last cinematic outing in the tiresome rom-com Valentine's Day saw her standing dead-eyed alongside human bicep Taylor Lautner, systematically toying with her hair in a role that couldn't have felt more forced if she had spent its duration with the words "I'M ACTING" scrawled across her forehead in permanent marker. Co-star Zac Efron will portray protagonist Ted, who is besotted with Swift's character Audrey. Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Rob Riggle and Betty White are also set to star, which at least gives us a certain degree of hope for the quality of its outcome. The CGI animation will be released in 3D on March 12th, 2012, and is to be directed by Chris Renaud, who shall be accompanied by the same writing team he ingratiated himself with on Despicable Me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5jnJdnQPr8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzYRkGIQpOs&feature=related

Paul Tamburro hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
