THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Merchandise Reveals The Lizard & Story Spoilers
New looks at merchandise for Sony's blockbuster likely give away the main set pieces of Marc Webb's Spidey reboot.
With merchandise for Hollywood blockbusters needing to be designed and produced so many months ahead of the films they are marketing it's no surprise that the big reveals regarding Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man are coming from our first looks at new toys. On the heels of the pez dispenser which revealed what the scaly head of the villainous creature The Lizard will look like in next summer's movie comes a slightly bigger reveal of his shoulders thanks to Idle Hands and some kind of electronic remote controls. The one for Spider-Man is above and the potentially spoilerish one (that's if you were avoiding a reveal of the character before July) is below; A newly available to pre-order Marvel Universe action figure also seems to reveal an encounter between The Lizard and Spider-Man will take place in the sewers. Though I guess we could have presumed that ourselves... The biggest spoiler of all comes from Bleeding Cool's discovery of the package design for a Mega Bloks licensed toy titled "Oscorp Tower FX Battle". Self explanatory really about what the title and the image below gives away... If you look close enough you can also see the 'Swat Lizard" which confirms an ancient old rumour from Big Fanboy who reported from the set of the film that the conclusion would involve Rhys Ifans' Dr Curt Connors transforming a SWAT team into his own Lizard army. More images below... One report from Sony's set during filming of the apparent bridge scene above said;
One action set-piece towards the end of the film sees the Lizard transform a whole Swat team into scaly mutants that look like him. Then theres a huge battle. Some of the scene is based upon the famous issue of the comic in which Gwen Stacy died.Should we be worried about the fate of Emma Stone in this one? The Amazing Spider-Man is coming July 3rd, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
