The Blob Returns For X-Men: Apocalypse

Yet another familiar mutant joins the sequel's ranks.

If there was a canteen specifically for up-oming blockbusters, X-Men: Apocalypse's table would be looking pretty darn full. The film already has a shoal of mutants ready to do war, and thanks to an Instagram post we've learned there's at least one more body in the mix, and he's a big 'un. It looks like The Blob will feature and he's reportedly being played by an as yet unnamed French-Canadian dude who weighs 540lbs. https://instagram.com/p/6XqKwuQtRd/?taken-by=benofk_funko The post came via Benjamin Malartre Bureau, who was using the social-media tool to show-off a souvenir he picked up on set. In the picture Malartre Bureau has what looks to be an X-Men: Apocalypse key-ring to hand, but his accompanying text is more revealing. Bureau claims he spent time with Jennifer Lawrence, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Nicholas Hoult, as well as someone just hash-tagged Blob.
This seemingly relates to the character The Blob, a villain who previously worked as a circus-freak. Known for his vast stature, the Blob actually made a brief appearance in nobody's favourite X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There he was played by Kevin Durand, but we don't know who's nabbed the part in Apocalypse. Just that Malartre Bureau says he's a seriously big dude. It's unlikely The Blob's part is sizable, but he'll be in there somewhere when the movie opens in the UK on 19th May 2016.
