The Coming of GALACTUS

Thanos02.jpgI'm getting giddy over Fantastic Four 2. I know I shouldn't, but I just can't help it. It's called The Rise of the Silver Surfer, had a great trailer with a "straight out of the comic" chase involving The Human Torch and now it's been confirmed that Galactus will be in the movie! Yup that's right folks. Screenwriter Don Payne let the cat out of the bag, and the gigantic planet eating villain will be in the film... "As far as Galactus goes, the essence will be the same" but he did say that €œthe story definitely focuses more on the Silver Surfer€”otherwise it would be called €˜Rise of the Silver Surfer and Galactus,€™€. He went on to say that the character will be more of a "force" rather than explored as a fully fleshed out character. Payne said that the film will combine elements from Fantastic Four #48 (The Coming of Galactus story) and will use the storyline from issues #57-60 where The Silver Surfer encounters Doctor Doom. And more on the Silver Surfer... €œI think he may be the most complex comic character of all time. He€™s mysterious and he€™s powerful and he€™s menacing and he€™s aloof but he€™s also thoughtful and noble and tragic. He€™s made this huge sacrifice and yet he€™s bringing about the destruction of countless worlds and civilizations. He feels guilty about it but he has to have this Zen-like detachment.€ He calls Galactus a "force", so does that mean we will actually see the guy on screen or is it like George Lucas' version of the "force". Those issues that Payne is talking about are some of the greatest comic stories I have ever read, and certainly the best involving The Fantastic Four. Please don't mess this up guys! source - dark horizons, comics 2 film, wizard
