THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Opening 6 Min Prologue Only In 70mm IMAX

Only 70mm IMAX screens and not digital ones will show The Dark Knight Rises 6 minute prologue with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in December.

AMC Theaters have confirmed last week's news that a six minute opening prologue to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to IMAX prints of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol that opens first exclusively in the format on Dec. 16th, before going wide Dec. 21st. But and there IS a but... The Dark Knight Rises prologue will only play in front of higher resolution 70mm IMAX screens and rather criminally, not in front of digital IMAX screens. So basically you are going to have to do some research before you pays your cash and visit the theatre. I don't know if this is the case in the UK as it's doubtful the exclusive IMAX early opening will be the same here but presumably the 70mm IMAX screen cavet is the same. If anyone knows how many and what locations those 70mm IMAX screens are located, that would be really welcomed... Meanwhile, since the opening prologue was announced last week and we still don't know what it will actually include plot wise, I'm just wondering whether the news we heard some months back that the opening would be Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne 'rediscovering the Batcave' will prove to be true. Could that story be told in six minutes and if so, would that please you as an opening prologue?
