14. The Taheen Strikes

As the Man in Black ominously proclaims that Roland and Jake can't stop what's coming, we catch a few glimpses of what are presumed to be the Taheen, a humanoid race who largely view themselves as above human beings, demonstrated by them appearing to sack an entire village, as the Man in Black states, "death always wins."

Now, it is actually possible that these creatures are in fact an entirely new creation for the movie, as in the books the Taheen all had the heads of animals, such as birds, dogs and even lemurs.

On the other hand, maybe Columbia just felt this would look too silly on the big screen and opted for something a little more pared-down.
