The Ratner Pack!

Brett Ratner to helm a movie biopic based on Frank Sinatra, with Chris Tucker to star as his valet George Jacobs.

r.jpgBrett Ratner is the quintessential studio/paint by numbers director. His films are a studio's dream. They have little controversy, little imagination and he just takes the script and gives it back to you with no fuss or problems. He just translates exactly what is given to him. That's why his name is always pretty high on studio's list when they need a director because he makes money and doesn't take risks. Variety report that Brett Ratner has been hired to direct Mr. S: My Life With Frank Sinatra, which New Line Cinema has just optioned based on the 2003 tell all book on Sinatra and the Rat Pack from writers George Jacobs and William Stadiem. Of course, Ratner has brought along his pal Chris Tucker who will once again get a massive pay deal for the minimist of effort, this time playing the valet of Frank Sinatra, George Jacobs - pictured on the book cover and also as we just mentioned one of the book's writers. The movie is planned to tell all about the lives of people Sinatra encountered in his life including Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Elvis and more. Ya know, I wouldn't mind so much if Chris Tucker wasn't involved in this picture. We all know that Brett Ratner is a huge rat pack fan and that should mean that he will actually put some passion and energy into the picture but Tucker, man, two movies in two years... you wanna be slowing down buddy. That's overkill for you. Surely you don't need another $20 million this soon after Rush Hour 3? Did you spend that money already or are you just worried about getting old and your coming to the realisation you can't take a six year gap between every movie anymore.
