The Christmas movie is a Hollywood tradition dating back over a hundred and twenty years, when George Albert Smith produced Santa Claus (1898), a technically sophisticated silent short featuring Saint Nick visiting kids with gifts.
A century later, we had Michael Keaton in Jack Frost (1998), in which we got to see what a snowman serial killer would look like. Ah, progress.
But inbetween (and a little bit after), cinema has showered us with a blizzard of classic Christmas films, some heartwarming, some hilarious. So let's see how much Yule Noel (sorry) about Xmas at the movies...
