The Women to get a movie makeover

thewomenposter.jpgGeorge Cukor's 1939 female ensemble film The Women is to get a remake. The original is notable because of the amount of female leading ladies and extra's. It's said that there were over 130 female speaking roles in the film and not one man is ever seen on camera. Although wouldn't ya believe it, they mostly just sit around and talk about men and their relationships. Diane English will make her directorial debut with the film she has been trying to bring to the big screen for over ten years. To match the original, here is the big female cast that are attached to the flick according to Variety... Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria, Jada Pinkett Smith, Debra Messing and Candice Bergen. Diane English's remake will be less chatty apparently. It sounds like a whole film that takes the Sex and the City coffee shop scene and draws it out for the whole running time.
