Thor: Ragnarok - 26 Easter Eggs & References You Must See
4. Asgard On Earth
A key element of the film's finale sees Thor realise that Asgard is not actually a place, it is a people and a sense of belonging to their shared culture. As such, Asgard exists where its people live, as opposed to being a fixed position.
The idea is actually one that's been a big part of Asgard's history in the comics. At the end of Ragnarok, Loki is actually successful in destroying Asgard, leaving Thor and his surviving people homeless. He comes to the same realisation - that "Asgard could be anywhere" - and rebuilds it outside of Broxton, Oklahoma.
In the comics, that leads to the key Siege storyline - which we will hopefully see one day in the MCU.
