Tom Holland Suits Up In New Spider-Man: Far From Home Costume

Well, that's a new look...

Spider-Man: Far From Home has been filming for just over a couple of months now, and as we begin to learn more about the sequel, including its villains and story, it's becoming apparent that the film's international focus may beget a shift in tone. The presences of Nick Fury and Maria Hill have already been confirmed, and with the Chameleon - a super spy in the comics - apparently set to feature as a villain too, it looks as though Spidey will be trading the high school genre for the espionage one.

It's a really interesting angle to take, but what does every good spy need? Well, a suit, obviously. And with Tom Holland's Peter Parker having upgraded his costume at least once in every appearance he's mustered thus far, it was always likely that he'd do so again for Far From Home.

Curtesy of the Daily Spider-Man Instagram account, images have emerged from the Far From Home set that show Peter in a brand new black costume. While comparisons will instantly be made to that of the symbiote suit from the comics, which Toby Maguire's Spidey sported in Spider-Man 3, it's far more likely that Peter has donned a custom-made stealth weave, in the vein of those he wore during 2004's Secret War or 2011's Big Time comics respectively.

It is the former storyline, however, that potentially lends itself better to Far From Home's premise. That comic also saw Nick Fury link up with the wall-crawler (albeit for markedly different, Fantastic Four-esque reasons), and while we can't expect the film to replicate that story beat for beat, it remains to be seen just how the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director enlists Pete's help, or for what reason.

In any case, fans can expect to see Peter change costumes at least once in the sequel, and though it's not quite the Alien Costume, it's about as close as fans are likely to see it for the foreseeable future.
