20 Worst Movie Posters Of 2015

The sour cream of this year's failed poster crop.

As much as there were a good amount of decent posters this year, as ever, there have been a fair amount of absolute turkeys. Whilst it has not been my pleasure to sift through the dregs of 2015's batch of photoshop f*ck-ups, lazily-cropped quads and one sheets that I wouldn't want to look at for more than one second, I have done so nonetheless. What's frustrating here is that there were so many opportunities for unique, innovative poster campaigns that were just never grasped. Recognised franchises and quirky indies have been guilty of this alike, and for the most part it has to be the responsibility of the marketing department. Whenever there's a shoddy poster out there making the rounds, there are two questions that come to mind; 1) "How on earth did anyone think this was good enough?" and 2) "Which head honcho gave this their approval?". Evidently, a few people are doing very, very bad jobs. It's not hard to look at a selection of posters you've been pitched and simply choose the best. If none of them are good, it's back to the drawing board, dammit. That said, it's all easier said than done, and I know precious little about the finer intricacies of designing a poster. But if we can all agree that these 20 posters are fairly horrible, then we're already doing better than the people designing and releasing them. Enjoy!
