Universal buy Jeff the Immortal & Warners buy Dorks

Jeff the Immortal came about after scribe Chris Bishop watched Highlander and he wondered what it would be like to have immortal power. Or maybe it was after he watched The Mask and Bruce Almighty and decided to copy them!

night_dorks.jpgA supernatural script that goes by the title Jeff the Immortal has been picked up at Universal. Chris Bishop's script about a slacker who discovers he has supernatural powers but uses it for selfish reasons came about after Bishop watched Highlander one night and wondered what his pals would do if they were given immortal powers. So I guess, it's another rift on The Mask and Bruce Almighty and such movies like that but oh well, those were kinda fun I guess. Bishop has also found his script for Night of the Living Dorks picked up by Warner Independent. The movie will be a remake of the 2004 German movie which isn't suppose to be all that great in truth. It revolves around a group of kids who die in a car accident only to be born again as zombies, or something like that anyway. The fact that the original is not suppose to be very good, is a positive thing for a remake right? You adapt something that could be improved upon and then you deliver a better movie. At least that's the idea anyway but of course it doesn't always turn out that way. source - variety
