Vader Confirmed, Returning Characters, Mads Mikkelsen's Role Revealed - Get Ready For EW's Star Wars: Rogue One Issue
Force. Strong. This one.

There's regular old movie news and then there's Star Wars news. After The Force Awakens delivered I'm so on board with the franchise (oh, who am I kidding, I was on board well before that film hit) that even the promise of new info gets me unbearably excited. And we're about to get the motherload; Entertainment Weekly have just revealed their cover for Star Wars: Rogue One, teasing a massively revealing article on the film.
The cover's great, showcasing the film's leads (Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso, Diego Luna's character and Alan Tudyk's mo-cap droid) and full of twisted Star Wars iconography - we're on a new beach planet, and there's variant TIEs and AT-ATs, with the Death Star looming in the background - although it's what's inside that has me so hooked.
The content of the issue will be released over the next few days, but there's a few teases in the announcement to really amp up the anticipation, including that Mads Mikkelsen is indeed Jyn Erso's father and that Darth Vader is 100% in the film. I mean, we did already know that, but to have it finally confirmed by Lucasfilm is exciting.
What's got me most giddy though is this little snippet from the cast list:
Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, and Alan Tudyk – as a performance-capture droid. (One of these has been seen before by Star Wars fans.)
One of the team tasked with stealing the Death Star plans is a pre-existing character! But who? A safe bet would be someone's one of the Rebel pilots from the Battle of Yavin, but it would be pretty awesome to get something that further expands the galaxy.
We'll be covering all the big reveals from this story over the coming days, so stay tuned for more great Star Wars-y goodness.
Star Wars: Rogue One is in cinemas from 16th December.
