Wonder Woman has been a long time coming to the big screen. Even before Patty Jenkins was thinking about the movie in 2004, her shadow hung tantalisingly over the silver screen, undeveloped, unthinkably but no less insistent.

Geoff Johns says Jenkins is doing for the character what Richard Donner did for Superman, which should be taken as a big reason to be confident about the movie (and its inevitable sequels), given the part Donner's vision had in the very formation of the comic book movie genre. And the DCEU probably needs some of that light, even as it's making bucket-loads of money.

This will be a different prospect once more - a departure temporarily from the irresistible force of the "modern day" DCEU as it heads towards Justice League and beyond, but it looks more and more interesting as the release date creeps closer. And thanks to a raft of new information released by sites invited to talk to director Patty Jenkins during the edit and who visited the set, we now have a raft of new and clarified details that reveal some interesting morsels that should add to fans' excitement...
