Given that WhatCulture.com has recently discussed a number of future movies featuring Marvel characters (such as The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and Thor 3), the imminent release of X-Men: Days of Future Past makes it seem like the ideal time to look at a future X-Men movie release. In December of 2013, X-Men director Bryan Singer announced via his Twitter account that X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in 2016. The movie will see the iconic X-Men villain Apocalypse as the lead antagonist, finally appeasing those fans who have demanded such a monstrous foe be depicted in a big screen adaptation. Magneto has served as a near constant thorn in the X-Men's collective side throughout the series so far, with guys like Sebastian Shaw and Deadpool (if we can really call him that) occasionally popping up to vary things somewhat, but a colossal villain like Apocalypse making an appearance is long overdue.
