X-Men Film Universe's Future: 10 Things You Need To Know

As the X-Men franchise grows, could Fantastic Four be set to return to Marvel Studios?

Marvel Studios has the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Warner Bros. has their newly launched DC Extended Universe. 20th Century Fox, on the other hand, are looking at creating their very own X-Men Universe, expanding a franchise which for years has revolved solely around the core team and Wolverine into an entire series of movies (and possibly even a TV show). While the studio has yet to announce a slate of X-Men movies spanning the next five years or so like their rivals, they do have a number already on the way, and many others in various stages of development. Fox may have made some mistakes in the past, but things have been looking up for their mutant characters recently, and while the Fantastic Four's role in the X-Men Universe has been thrown into doubt following the epic failure of Josh Trank's reboot, the X-Men look set to become one of Hollywood's biggest superhero franchises. That of course became apparent when X-Men: Days Of Future Past exceeded expectations with close to $750 million at the worldwide box office last year, and all eyes are now on next year's X-Men: Apocalypse to hit that all important $1 billion mark and make history for this franchise. So, what do you need to know about what's in store for the X-Men Universe? Here, you will find all the latest intel and spoilers on everything from X-Men: Apocalypse to the future of new franchises like Deadpool, Gambit, New Mutants, and some which may just surprise you...
