The Terminator film series is, without a doubt, one of the most iconic film franchises in the history of cinema.
Giving life to one of his very own nightmares, James Cameron directed The Terminator back in 1984 - a low-budget thriller so revolutionary that it solidified him as the visionary that he is celebrated as today while also making household names out of its stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. And he would go on to do it all again in the 1991 follow-up Terminator 2: Judgment Day - a film that is rightly considered among the greatest sequels of all time.
While it's true that the series has languished in mediocrity ever since, with a number of studios, directors and writers all trying to revive the gem that Cameron created only to produce multiple failed sequels, it's still a testament to the iconic director that his creation remains so relevent today.
