Zoe Bell lands her first lead role!

Zoe Bell is awesome. She was the girl who was Uma Thurman's stunt double in the Kill Bill saga and was one of the lead actresses' in Tarantino's Death Proof (where she played herself no less!!). She really did steal the show in that flick and was totally insane to do all those car stunts in the last act of the film. If you've seen Death Proof... you know exactly what I'm talking about. She's superbly talented. She can put herself in some dangerous situations and come out unscathed, but she can really fucking act too. She's a directors dream and I'm not surprised it hasn't taken her long to get her own action movie. Bell has signed on to play a U.S. soldier who ends up alone when she returns from serving duty in Iraq. Unsure of what to do with her life now, she decides to help out young kids who are in trouble. The original idea comes from producer Marco Weber who is financing the flick under his Senator Entertainment Banner and also from screenwriter Sarah Thorp. Bell said in an interview that Variety picked up...

"This film is a big challenge for me, especially the American accent, which I have to work on... But one thing is certain: I will be doing all my own stunts on the film."
Awesome. Although the plot sounds wafer-thin, it's great to see the very likeable Bell headline her own movie!
