Zoe Saldana's bad-ass action vehicle Colombiana is released in the U.S. this weekend (an incredibly rare female led guns & bullets thriller) but the actress is already setting up what could be a future leading role in a supernatural thriller at Paramount. The Hollywood Reporter says Saldana will star and produce Dominion where she will play a half-human, half-angel! Absolutely no plot details have been granted so let your imagination run wild on this one. Dominion was birthed as an idea from fairly rookie scribes Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings who wrote the in-production indie thriller You're My Angel (yeah... they are obsessed) and also took an early shot at a draft for Gerard Butler's actioner Machine Gun Preacher. In fact it was on that movie that McCreary and Hastings met this film's producer Robbie Brenner and the film was officially pitched. With such scant details it's tough to know what to think on this one but don't expect Dominion to film soon though as McCreary and Hastings haven't wrote the screenplay yet and they aren't even at a stage to go out to directors. Next up for Saldana is a reprisal of her role as Uhura in Star Trek 2 that should kick off in January.
