10 Best Ever Video Game Dads

Who knew the God of War could be such a great father?

For some reason or another, video games love a good dad. They're literally all over the place, both of the absent and present varieties, and somehow nearly all have found a way to be compelling in their own right.

Of course, there's a difference between a game that just so happens to feature a father and one that focuses on what it's like to be one. The highs, the lows, and the worries: as the gaming industry has innovated, so too has its ability to convey truly meaningful relationships in its titles, with gamers now in the fortunate position of being able to choose from several authentic depictions of fatherhood in the medium.

Well, maybe not authentic (just how many fathers can relate to a Greek war god fighting an entire pantheon of gods?), but still, they're appreciated. Seeing as how the onus on most titles is for things to be bigger and better all the time, it should come as no surprise to hear that these dads tend to juggle more than their fair share of responsibilities, with some being super-spies by night, and others being tasked to end the zombie apocalypse.

One thing's for certain though: no matter their profession, the following dads are the best the gaming medium has ever seen - even if they aren't all exactly model parents.
