It€™s hard not to build up hype for video games before they€™re even released or in some cases before we€™ve actually even seen gameplay footage. Sometimes those meticulously crafted CGI trailers are enough to sucker us into a product, which is probably a very bad habit in retrospective but realistically, we€™re simply trying to be wishful and positive towards titles that instantly resonate with us. There€™s a fine line to walk though between unabashed hype, pre-release praise and looking at things objectively and rationally. That doesn€™t necessarily mean you should approach every game with a microscope, pessimism, and refrain from excitement towards everything under the sun €“ nobody likes a Debbie Downer- but sometimes there are writings on the wall that you can€™t ignore. I fully hope all 10 of these games turn out for the better but maybe for now, we should turn down the volume on our hype and take a step back before proclaiming one of them as the greatest invention since fire. This list isn€™t structured to say €œhey you, the games you€™re excited for will suck€ but rather that you should really reexamine where you hype is coming from, or if the game can even live up to your monumental standards.
