Throughout gaming history, we have been blessed with some wonderful characters, but everything must have its opposite. For every character we grow to love, there will be one who gamers just wish had never been thought of. Bosses that seem to be invincible, worthless allies who cannot do anything for themselves, supposed sidekicks who we just want to kick up the backside – followed by a swift beheading… they’re all there, and they all annoy the ever-loving crap out of us.
From the infamous to the much lesser known, get your stress ball out, because this motley crew just do not know when to leave you alone.
10. Belethor (The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim)
He may be one of the minor players on this list, but he is certainly one of the most annoying. Belethor runs the general good store in Whiterun, the city of Skyrim where, for many players, the adventure begins. Some buy their first home there, so it’s nice to know there’s a store close by where you can sell your sundries for a reasonable price, right?
Wrong. Belethor is a first-class jerk with an inflated ego and even more inflated prices. Everything he says is laced with sarcasm at best, and blunt rudeness at worst. “If I had a sister I’d sell her in a second” comes to mind as a pure gem from this charming pillar of society, but it’s not only his own family he doesn’t seem to have a care for. You can ask most people in the game why they ended up in the province of Skyrim, but Belethor’s answer is: “the most compelling feature of this frozen wasteland is the volley of inane questions leveled at me on a regular basis”. There are other vendors all over the place that you can go to, but when you live in the same city as this guy, you really do have to weigh up whether killing him is worth the jail time. I reckon it is.

Play Killzone 2, then come back and pretend the most annoying character ever isn’t Rico.
I never played with most of these characters but I have to disagree with Elena. Elena isn’t annoying at all. She’s like the perfect girl next door. And she killed lots of enemies in my games. That was the first think I noticed about her….that she actually helps you fight and will actually hit and finish off enemies.
Andy, is correct. Putting Elena on this list is outrageous.
…which is of course great, until you’re knee-deep into your eighteenth Crushing attempt at painstakingly taking out a cluster of breathtakingly vigilant rent-a-goons entirely with stealth and she suddenly hurls herself over the nearest knee-high wall and starts enthusiastically ‘helping’. Loudly. Inaccurately. Apparently at random. And THEN, she has the temerity to moan ‘Naaaate?’ like a slighted kitten when the inevitable occurs. C’mon.
How about the chick from Resident Evil 5? That might have been a decent game without her. Even if it was a bad carbon copy of RE4.
I totally agree for Elena Fisher. To me, she is he most annoying character by far.
Roman is quite annoying, but if you really want to put GTA IV on this list, just put the Cell Phone itself. There’s too many people in that game who want to call you for no reason than waste your time by hanging out. Especially when it took so damn long to get from where you were to the next mission. Nope! Gotta go bowling with Roman. If I was Nico, I’d've chucked that phone into the ocean.

REALLY? Elena beats everybody in the Infaomus series at being really annoying? Theres not one time in uncharted that I wanted to strangle Elena for anything (even in the crap that is Drake’s Deception), where as in infamous i wanted to wrap my hands around everybodies throat as soon as they started to talk for both games.
Also Crystal and Amber are not difficult to beat at all just follow one with the quick step drink and the fight is really easy probably one of the easiest in the game as long as your not dumb and refuse to dodge the other chicks attacks while doing so.
Dead Rising bosses suck because the characters moves and controls are designed for fending off hordes of shuffling undead meatbags while the psychopaths are designed to fight the main characters. Between the invincibility to attacks during certain animations, to their insane amounts of health and speed (an obese chef can run faster than Chuck WTH) the difference in combat is stark. In other words, Dead Rising bosses are profoundly cheap and unfair.
Elena Fisher? Devil Jin? This list is terrible.
And no Ashley from Resident Evil 4? Yeah, the list was trying to be original with its choices – but it failed.
There are a few annoying characters that you left out, although understandably since it’s a limited list. So here’s my honorable mentions in no particular order:
-Ashley from RE4. She was so annoying from her slowness to her voice to her behavior and constant whining!!!
-Louis from Left 4 Dead. He would get in the way of your gun so much, then complain when you shoot him. I shot him so many times on purpose because of that.
-Tingle, originally from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. This guy’s annoyance factor was on par with the Happy Mask Salesman’s creepy factor. Even his own father’s ashamed of him. Much like the Duck Hunt dog, he also cannot be killed. You can shoot his balloon from the sky, though. Kooloo-limpah!
-343 Guilty Spark from the Halo series. I think everyone was sooo happy when you got to kill him. I know I had been wanting to for the entire game.
The most annoying video game character of all time is from Zelda, but its not Na’vi, its Tingle in Windwaker. The amount of times you have to revisit him and watch him do his little dance…
Amen to that! I originally planned on leaving him in his cell, then I found out that I needed to free him to beat the game. All I could think at that point was “NOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Zelda is hardly annoying at all. She’s like Peach’s cooler big sister. Zelda doesn’t get herself kidnapped anywhere near as often as Peach, despite a more competent and scary arch-villain – and unlike Peach can actually look after herself – as in OoT where she appears as Sheikh and is actually useful while on the run from Ganondorf. The only time I really remember being irritated by Zelda is when she repeatedly shoved Link of ledges at the start of Skyward Sword, then led him on a merry chase through nightmarishly long monster-filled dungeons as he held off that demon guy so she could do whatever she was doing, only to be reprimanded by Impa for being a few seconds behind.
Why isn’t Zoe from Spyro The Dragon in there? Everytime you go by her she zaps you and it’s annoying as hell
Aside from Navi, the dog from Duck Hunt, the rivals from the Pokemon games, Natalya, and maybe Princess Peach, this is a very terrible list. For starters, I played all three Uncharted games, and not once did I think that Elena was annoying. She should be nowhere near any spot on this list, let alone the top. Also, I think Belethor is a bit too minor of a character to be on this list. While I do find him to be a bit of a jerk, I can think of a lot of characers that are more annoying than him.
Mr. Resetti from the Animal Crossing series (hit reset and you’ll get a lecture as annoying as Heathcliff Huxtable’s life stories), Luigi from the Mario series (I don’t know why, but I never really liked Luigi), Baby Mario from Yoshi’s Island (you have no idea how many times I heard Baby Mario’s crying ringing in my head), Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Tingle from the Legend of Zelda series (holy crap, do not even get me started on Tingle), in my opinion, should all be on this list.
You miss Omochao from Sonic’s series. He is annoying as hell telling you EVERYTHING you know, and his voice is annoying too.
I’m surprised no one thought about that stupid frog slippy from Star Fox. Help me! Help me! It still haunts me

Crappy list. Play L.A Noire and whenever you notice Roy Earle, any witness, or Garret Mason right before you kill him, pray to god you’re either deaf, or a little kid. And the Bailey twins from #8 aren’t annoying. You’re just jealous because they won’t have sex with the guy with the chainsaw.
i think most annoying is Moira Brown in Fallout 3.if u startd her quest u r in big trouble until u finish it.until then if u go to her to buy some ammo she wud ask abt quest every time u speak with her
What about Rose from MGS2? Every time You save the game, she calls Raiden and whines a lot and keeps getting at Raiden all the time. God she’s annoying
Why Navi? Keopora Gaebora is infinitely more annoying in Ocarina of Time. He is the bane of button mashers everywhere.
Why was Elena on the list?? Why couldn’t 343 Guilty Spark from Halo be #2?
