10 Most Insane Japanese Video Games Of All Time

9. Mr. Mosquito

Mr. Mosquito It's difficult to find words to describe what exactly happens in Mr. Mosquito, but the words 'pervert simulator' would probably be a good place to start. You play as the game's protagonist, Mr. Mosquito, who lives amongst the Yamada family. Each summer you come out of hiding to hunt down your prey of the generic Japanese salaryman father, his loving wife and their trendy Americanised daughter - the goal of each stage is to suck blood from specific body parts of the family and try to save up enough blood to last through the winter. The challenge comes when sucking the family dry... irritating one of the family whilst doing this causes them to try to swat you, but if you're lucky enough to get away, then an epic styled boss battle will ensue causing the member to attack with bug spray, strike and slap as they go to great lengths to basically end you. The only way to avoid this is to launch yourself at specific pressure points on their body, calming them down or even causing them to faint. The game was a huge hit in Japan and it even got its own port to N. America and Europe. With some gameplay flaws and a strange storyline, it received a slightly above average reception in the West, but one thing that can be said is that it is certainly an original title in what seems to be a sometimes saturated market.
