Vampires. Before Twilight, they were actually cool. Bram Stoker's Dracula, Van Helsing, Blade, Blood: The Last Vampire, Underworld and countless other titles I could mention meant that vampires were something to be feared and respected. Now nobody can talk about them without first making it very clear that sparkly metrosexuals are not your thing, otherwise the conversation gets really awkward, really really fast. But in the world of gaming, things have been substantially more preserved - you can find all kinds of vampire lore with some differences here and there in all kinds of games. The Castlevania series immediately comes to mind... or perhaps you preferred the convoluted setting in the Legacy of Kain series, or the dark, leather-clad style of Blood Rayne. Whichever vampire-oriented video game series you choose from, you can't go wrong. Vampires in gaming are still respectable. Caine help us all if a Twilight video game ever comes about (did anyone else feel a cold chill run down their spine just now?). So I dedicate this list to all those awesome vampires that shan't be forgotten in gaming anytime soon. I found it quite difficult to rank them from one to ten, so I'm not surprised if the following ranking won't be to everyone's liking. If I could, I would've ranked them all at number one, for a bunch of different reasons, as whatever you think makes a vampire a worthy of being remembered is entirely subjective.
