10 Most Unlikely Gaming Heroes Ever

master-chief The gaming landscape is littered with heroes. Many of these are so heroic that onlookers are struck dumb by their sheer physical presence and ability to wipe out wave upon wave of enemy forces. These are men and women who were simply born to lead armies and defeat evil, people like the Master Chief who is so damn heroic he can remove the lid from a troublesome jar with a slight cock of his head. Allegedly. There are another band of individuals though and while their deeds might be heroic, there is more than an element of surprise that they didn't somehow die straight away. They fall into two distinct camps, the first camp being those individuals who do not show any outward displays of their heroic nature and probably to shy away from conflict, have been thrust into the spotlight by chance and against their better judgement have had to save the world. The other camp is filled with heroes who are similarly unlikely, but not because they have asthma, it is because they are ridiculous creations that any half competent villain should have been able to dispatch. As a fun game*, try and guess which camp these ten individuals fall into! *Game is not fun.

10. Guybrush Threepwood

guybrushthreepwood Star of the wonderful Monkey Island series, the spectacularly named Guybrush Threepwood is about as far away from being a pirate as you could imagine, so for him to be the hero of a pirate adventure seems ridiculous. Yet, he does indeed prove to be the hero, despite the fact he is a little dim, prefers to defeat enemies with his words rather than a sword and is perhaps the only gaming hero who wears a blouse. He certainly isn't someone who you would feel safe wandering around Brixton with, though thanks to his ridiculously spacious trousers you almost certainly wouldn't run out of supplies on your travels. A character who despite being somewhat naive, manages to get by on his charm, save the day and get the girl.
