10 Reasons Infamous: Second Son Will Be The PS4's First Essential Title

10. It€™s A Proven Franchise

Admittedly, the original Infamous was a bit of a mixed bag. Similar to an open world franchise like Assassin's Creed, it fell into a lot of beginner traps. After your initial few hours, the game got very repetitive and you began to just go through the motions as you played it. The story was still fantastic with a shocking twist near the end, and as a whole it was an enjoyable game, but all the pieces hadn't come together to create something truly special just yet.

On the other hand, Infamous 2 was a major step up pretty much refining every gripe you could ever have with the original. Shooting lightning from your fingertips felt more responsive and fluid, the story and missions were paced better so that the game rarely ever lacked a dull moment, and ice powers were added, because well, ice powers are freaking awesome. If history repeats itself, Infamous: Second Son should be another vast improvement in terms of both story and gameplay. It certainly looks that way from trailers too.
