11. Killer Instinct
More for fans of nostalgia than anything else, Killer Instinct is a remake of the ancient beat-em-up of the exact same name. A cult hit that may still look on fondly, time will tell whether this new version will strike the same level of engagement. An Xbox One exclusive, Killer Instinct has currently got the free-to-play lurgy. You're fine to play it for nothing, but you'll only get two characters and will have to rustle together the funds from your Sonic piggy bank to pay for the rest. Admittedly this ain't all bad - fighting games often have loads of useless characters that do nothing of any importance, so picking the ones who look awesome will help crack down on the fodder. It's certainly an interesting experiment if nothing else. It probably wouldn't work when the Xbox One has loads more games next year, but I imagine more than a fair share of people will be dabbling with Killer Instinct over the next couple of months. Killer Instinct will launch simultaneously with the Xbox One as it becomes available worldwide.
