12 Best Indie Games Of 2015 (So Far)

The greatest games out there cost only a tenth of what you've already heard of.

2015 has finally seen the games industry lurch back into something that resembles its older self, and although production budgets have thoroughly decimated the entire mid-tier of development (THQ, Clover Studio and Zipper have all bit the bullet, amongst many more), there are a slew of incredible indie gems that should be filling out your libraries all the same. From 2D pixel-art showcases that prove an HD clean-up on the now 30 year-old art style can still carry with it a huge amount of charm, to developers stripping away the bluster of high-end production to finalise multi year-long passion projects, you'd be surprised how many brilliantly unique (and far cheaper) games out there can give you more bang for your buck. Batman: Arkham Knight, The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne propped up our Best Of 2015 list, but it's worth shining a light on all the titles that don't always make it into the average consumer's 'Must Buy' list. So, from murder-mysteries to Shadow of the Colossus-style boss-runs, a mobile game that's actually worth playing and one of the most gloriously violent shooters ever put to code, check out my list of the best indie titles of 2015, and leave your own suggestions in the comments below.
