14 Incredible Video Games Still To Come In 2014

The slow trickle of titles across the year has suddenly become a river.

As the year slowly draws to a close and we start looking back over those titles that might be included on our various Game of the Year lists, if you were asked to name a handful that defined the new generation, chances are you'd struggle a bit. No more though, as like some Gondorian warrior leading the charge, Shadow of Mordor's appearance as a surprise Game of the Year-contender has heralded in a flurry of additions between now and Christmas that almost every one should be worth your time. It's long past due, as the console launches have been a bit flat so far - either not having enough of the essential features initially promised or simply not producing enough system-sellers to hold the generation in good stead. Instead we'd all snatched up the new hardware off reputation alone, and have been looking back ever since at how many awesome games followed the previous generations' launches, our shelves today containing still-divisive entries like Titanfall, Destiny or Watch Dogs. It's easy to forget games like Gears of War and Uncharted came about a year after the 360 and PS3's respective launches, and so as history appears to be repeating, the industry has finally found its footing again.
