While the first game in the Mass Effect series was undeniably great, the second instalment in the trilogy was unforgettable. Mass Effect 2 saw us gathering squad mates to take on the Collectors and prevent them from harvesting humans while creating Reapers which are hellbent on ruining BioWares gorgeous sci-fi universe. We are introduced to a varied and interesting set of characters which made us desperate to trawl through all of the games many dialogue scenarios. The fact you were also able to romance members of your squad gave you even more incentive to explore all of the available conversation options. Mass Effect 2 boasted the perfect combination of RPG and action-adventure with an incredible and moving storyline at its core, motivating you to destroy every Geth trooper and Collector thrown at you. Every decision you made had repercussions, all culminating in the highly memorable final mission. Mass Effect 2 gave you a huge galaxy to explore and hours of extra gameplay were available if you were diligent and scanned planets for anomalies. BioWares universe is easily one of the richest, most detailed and most engrossing of all of the visions of the future in video gaming history.
