5 Reasons To Play Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning

Kingdoms Of Amalur 600x300 Welcome to the fifth and final part of games that you may not have played but really probably should. It's been a pleasant journey, and I've loved every word of it, but it's coming to an end. Before I go, and move on to chatting about something else, there's still one last game we have to visit; one last game that you, as gamers, should most definitely play. And it's with this thought in mind that I bring to you 5 Reasons you should drop what you're doing and play Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The development of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a bit of a sad story, really. Made by Big Huge Games and 38 Studios, and released in 2012 by EA, it was met by higher than average reviews but a very luke-warm customer base, finally selling only 1.2million copies. This was a devastating blow to 38 Studios who needed it to sell 3million copies just to break even, and one that it would never recover from. Only four months after the release of the game, 38 Studios declared bankruptcy and, having been in-part funded by the State of Rhode Island, lost almost 75million in taxpayers money. To this date the controversy continues as people sue and counter-sue over what went wrong, and 38 Studios try to repay a little of what they owe by auctioning off their IPs. Which brings us nicely to Amalur, and the province of it in which the game is set, the magical Faelands.
