7 Best Rockstar Games (You've Probably Never Heard Of)

6. The Warriors

Look at that, Rockstar can even make a movie-licensed game awesome! Rockstar's take on the gangland world from the movie "The Warriors" came out in 2005 for Xbox and PlayStation 2, and even for PlayStation Portable in 2007. Taking place three months prior to the events of the movie, the game is set in a gritty 1970's New York City, where the street gang, The Warriors, are accused of a murder they didn't commit. They then must get back to their home turf in one night, leading to plenty of fights and speed bumps along the way. Not only was this a very faithful adaptation of both the movie and the novel its based on, but with the addition of having all of the original cast return to reprise their roles from the original movie - as well as an authentic beat 'em up style of combat within large scale 3D environments - there was plenty of game here for players to appreciate. The Warriors is a worthy addition for any beat 'em up fan, especially if you're a die hard fan of the source material. The game got a re-release on PlayStation Network, in case an old Xbox or PS2 is out of reach for you. A very entertaining game worthy of a playthrough by any who miss how prominent the beat 'em up genre used to be in gaming.
