7 Things We Want to See in Red Dead Redemption 2

There’s still so much to be done with John Marston...

screenshots that they released seemingly just moments ago in an 'Asked and Answered' session have already been passed around the internet like a porn mag in a high school. On the back of that news came something equally exciting. When pressed about the fate of the Red Dead series, representatives from Rockstar were keen to assure us that announcement details are in fact on the way. Whether that's tomorrow, or months down the line isn't yet clear, but one thing can be easily gleaned from the words: it's coming. While a third journey into Rockstar's acclaimed Western world was always anticipated, it's been way too long since we've heard anything on the fate of the franchise. And now that we're all but one step away from confirmation we felt that the time was right to compile a neat little list of the things we'd love to see in a return from the most faithful video game Western series on the market. So saddle up partners, let's mosey.

7. Untold Stories

It€™s not really a stretch to say that there€™s every chance Red Dead Redemption 2 could be a prequel, right? Redemption constantly hinted at Marston€™s troubled past in which he ran with the bandit gang along with those whom he pursues throughout the story, Bill Williamson and the Dutch van der Lind. John Marston is a superb and phenomenally well received character and I wouldn€™t be surprised if Rockstar were reluctant to put him to rest just yet. The prequel would take us along with a younger Marston and we could see exactly who he was when he was still considered a criminal in the Red Dead World. Of course if I know John Marston (and I€™d like to think I do), even though he might be cast as a criminal he€™d still have that strange sense of grace and the unshakeable moral compass that made him one of our favourite video game anti-heroes. There€™s still so much to be done with John Marston. His backstory is fascinating as it is, and with further exploration Red Dead Redemption 2€™s writers have the opportunity to add even more meaning to the already resonating story of the first game.
