Assassin's Creed: Unity - 8 Unforgivable Issues That Insult The Fans
This is one of those times where everyone has a right to be absolutely furious.
With the new Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft need to retire the 'Next Generation Starts Here' baloney. It didn't work whatsoever with Watch Dogs - when that released to a generally negative reception comprised of 99% recoils in fear at the state of it's shipped state and the occasional "Ah that's nice" - and it's definitely not working here. It's a really disgusting state of affairs when consoles have been out for almost exactly a year, and we still have no faith in their ability to justify the lofty price tags. The explanation given on the industry side was that the majority of developers were hesitant to shake hands with console manufacturers for the sake of new launch tiles when the previous generation was still in full swing. They assumed we didn't actually want the new consoles at all, and now that's been proven incredibly wrong, we're getting an influx of titles that range from barely iterative, to slightly buggy - and in this case - offensively broken. Not just technically either, there's a wealth of issues that we've all been feeling are creeping into video games over the year, and it's taken one of the biggest franchises in entertainment history to really tie them all together. AC: Unity might (occasionally) be a very pretty game at face-value, but it belies some truly sinister motivations at its core, with ramifications that if other bigger developers take note mean nothing but abuse for fans going forward.
