Did you hear the news?! It appears that planning for the follow up to Rocksteady’s highly acclaimed ‘Batman: Arkham’ series is already underway.
While a third title may not be a huge surprise in and of itself (the series so far has done outstanding numbers, both in terms of sales and reviews – a third game is, and has always been, inevitable), there’s something comforting in knowing for sure that it’s coming.
Internet chatter seems to indicate that this new Batman title could be a prequel and as such the setting will be much more aligned with the silver-age of comics than anything we’ve seen previously in the series (for those who don’t know that’d mean Batman would be wearing his blue cape as opposed to black). The same chatter also indicates that Batman is to be meeting and facing the Joker for the very first time.
But by far the most exciting detail, which was posted in an article on Variety.com recently, is surely the word that Warner Bros. have delivered a proposal to Rocksteady relating to the possible insertion of the Justice League into their next Batman game.
While details are far from confirmed at this stage, the few that are being reported around the internet are all hugely feasible but could still be either rumours or early ideas that will eventually get scrapped. And although there’s no contactable source within the Variety article to confirm this information is accurate, the idea got me thinking: would including the Justice League work for the series?
And I concluded that I’m adamant it would. So without further chatter lets all assemble for ten ways Rocksteady could utilize the Justice League.

The way i see it is that you could have 2 new batman games.
First game: justice league to decide if batman should gain entry too the league, and then you might have to fight them all, which will lead to some epic bossfights and you will also need to find the weaknesses of the other superheroes etc.. And that leads me to what i think could be the story in the second game: batman, now a member of JL have learnt the other heroes weaknesses and cue Ra’s it will be up to batman to stop Ra’s from killing the other heroes. And also this is a good lead up to arkham asylum with the fact that after saving the other heroes, batman decides to take distance from JL and that is why there is no mention of JL in asylum and arkham city.
With all respect. I think your idea is awful. Like many said: Is a Batman game. We like to be at our own. Bring in all JL is completely pointless. And I don’t like the prequel idea neither. I think they can do a great game without the Joker. Or maybe a new villain. we need to remember that this guys bring us Harley Quinn and gave Hugo Strange a great protagonist. I don’t like any idea here but I am pretty sure they going to do a too much different game and it will be great. Sorry for my English.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea? I hope I’m wrong but the great thing about the last two games it that for all intense purposes you were on your own (with a little help from Oracle).
I’d love to see the next game explore the aftermath of city and how Gotham and Batman continued the good fight. The fact that Mark Hammel said this was his last voiceover for the Joker as well means who will take up the mantle?
I’m sure in a few years time I’ll be eating my words but opening up the game to JL members takes away that personal feeling the game created.
my suggestion would be to leave JL out all together, I play arkham to play as Batman, as you said the greatest superhero ever created. The games are everything I love about Batman, its gritty, tough and it shows that you are just a man. Introducing real “Super” heros with real “Super” powers will just be disappointing for me. I recently got Lego Batman 2 (being a big fan of the series) and was bitterly disappointed that with result, all you have to do is become Superman and your sorted. Not saying that you will become the other JL characters in the latest Arkham game, I just wished he would be a continuation of the original series, end the trilogy of games and then introduce JL right at the end to start the build up for the next game when a possible JL film is out
Saying that I will be buying it as soon as it comes out because, well because ITS BATMAN
i dont think the justice leauge should be in arkham 3 at all. that just ruins the hole purpose of calling a batman game. And in the third game they should definetly bring joker back.
Yep
This has nothing to do with this conversation, but i think they should talk about red hood and he should be a playable character.
I don’t know how I feel about JL in the Arkham series.
I like the idea of the Justice League if it was a Justice League game. Otherwise it seems silly. Batman has always been a loner despite being in the Justice League. He ussually does things by himself and that seems to work out just fine. Also the Silver Age idea isn’t very bad but the gameplay of the recent ones won’t seem to work for it unless they do a overhaul for it.
Just FYI: you want an equally destructive Superman/Cap brawl? Look no further than the JLU series where they fought. Episode 20, called “Clash.” You can probably find it online.
