Believe it or not, even after the fairly definitive ending we got at the close of Arkham Knight, Warner Bros. are still thundering ahead with another entry in the franchise. Rocksteady will be sitting this one out as per their announcement that Arkham Knight would be their last, and instead, Warner Bros. Montreal - who brought you Arkham Origins - are once again stepping up to the Bat.
It's no secret Origins wasn't received very positively, though its reputation comes from pure franchise fatigue, alongside releasing in a year dominated by GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, Gone Home and The Last of Us. In amongst that kind of progressive, medium-expanding competition, "another Batman game" just didn't stand a chance.
However, if everything that leaked out recently across Reddit is true, there are a number of really cool innovations, tweaks and franchise-altering additions for WB Montreal to make, which should continue the Arkham brand in style. Arkham Knight was certainly a very accomplished action game with some brilliantly cinematic moments, but there were some monumental missteps along the way - bugbears that a completely different developer can hopefully stay well away from.
What do you want to see fulfilled from everything that's tentatively being looked forward to right now?
